Chandigarh, July 30
Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani Akali Dal and SAD-BJP nominee for Jalalabad Assembly by-election today said that accelerated and time bound development of Punjab, by creating high tech quality infrastructure and generating large scale employment, by luring major industrial projects in the state, is my sole mission.
Addressing the largest ever election rally in Jalalabad in which villagers from 10 border villages vowed to wipe out Congress from the electoral scene of Punjab, Mr. Badal said that people of Jalalabad have got a golden opportunity to decide between focused development and stagnation, the mantra of Congress regime. He said that time has come that they should vote for development of this region and bring this region at par with developed areas of Punjab.

He said that it was our government that has given biggest ever compensation of land at the rate of Rs. 1.5 crore plus 30% displacement allowance per acre. Mr. Badal said that by introducing land pooling scheme, we are making farmers, partner in the growth process.
Mr. Badal said that Badal family always nurtured their constituency like their own babies and treat every constituent as their own family member. He said that Lambi Model of Development was quoted throughout the World as Mr. Parkash Singh Badal even being Chief Minister of the State, spends more time in Lambi rather than in Chandigarh. He said that the moment of truth has come for the voters of Jalalabad to exercise their choice between development of constituency and stagnation.

Mr. Badal said that due to reasons known to every one, previous Chief Minister purchased electricity from private companies to the tune of Rs. Rs. 23,000 Crores and ensured that Punjab remained totally dependent on these private companies. He said that Punjab government was already probing the underhand deals in the power sector for which every Punjabi was suffering these days.Charging Congress led Union Government of ignoring the damage suffered by farmers of non-Congress states, Mr. Badal said that not a single senior Congress leader could dare to answer his queries regarding raising the rate of diesel at the time of draught, not compensating draught hit farmers of Punjab, Rs. 2500 crore rice export scam and deliberately releasing more water from Pong Dam to Rajasthan, and it was left to low rung Tom, Dick and Harries to raise hue and cry that too without any justification..
